Difference between 8811 and 8810w?

Post by kdog38 »

What is the difference between to 8811 and 8810w remotes? Is it the color of the backlight? If so, what are the colors and is WalMart the only B&M store that carries them?

There is basically no difference between the 8811 and 8810w.
The 8811 has been sold with Red backlight and with Green backlight. I think Rob still has both colors available for sale.
I forget what backlight color 8810w's have. Probably they also have been sold both ways.

I think Walmart is the only vendor for 8810w. I assume Walmart does not sell the 8811, because several 8811 vendors with absurdly high prices ($27 to $40) have price match guarantees. Rob sells 8811's email order at roughly Walmart's 8810w price, but of course price match guarantees don't cover email order vendors.

BTW: What does B&M mean?

Sorry, "Brick and Mortar".. After further research I don't know if I would like the red backlight. So far, I am enjoying the 15-2116.

I was expecting something like "Browse and Maul" to capture the advantages of being able to hold the product before deciding whether you want it (and/or to represent the friendly return policy).

I don't think the Walmarts near here are brick and I have no idea whether Rob's house is brick :)
