Modified 6131 questions

I just purchased 3 of these from Robman. Great service by the way!!!

Ok here is my problem. I have 2 UltimateTvs and 2 new DirecTivos all in the same media closet and distributed with a Channel Plus modulator.

I have a stock 6131 that I purchased a while back and used codes 0392 1107 to drive my Ultimate TVs. All of the buttons worked like a champ.

On my new remotes 0392 works fine (all PVR functions intact) but 1107 does not have the PVR functions. Has 1107 changed in the modified remotes?

I would also like to drive my DirecTivos from the same remote using remote designations 1 & 2. Any shortcuts would be appreciated. I want to use them ASAP and am just beginning to learn JP1.

I never heard of code 1170? The AUX code for RCA UTV's is SAT0855. Yes the transport commands may not be mapped, but you can use the efc's from settup code 0392.

I got SAT1107 from the manual under pvr/sat combos and RCA.

SAT/1107 is indeed present in the URC-6131. None of the PVR functions are mapped but the transport keys (ie, REW, FFWD, etc) are mapped, so those should work.

You should be able to control both DirecTivos by using one of the Tivo upgrades, then create 2 seperate upgrades each with a different unit code.

I have set up my remote exactly the way I want it with ONE exception.

When using the DW490 upgrade on the JP1 site it controls my first UltimateTV. Does anyone know how to edit it to use the UTV originally set up on AUX on the RCA remote?

What cable works with this REMOTE?

Will the standard CHEAPO JP1 cable work or will I need the more expensive one with the little chip in it?

Which cable works does not typically depend on the remote. It depends primarily on the PC's printer port. With most PC printer ports the simple JP1 cable will work.
