Shifted numbers

Can assigning a shifted function to the numbers actually be used? As far as I can tell, hitting Setup, then a number, makes the remote assume you are typing in an EFC. The shift works fine if I try it on a non-number key.

What I'm trying to do is set up Shift 1 to be Video 1, Shift 2 for Video 2, etc... I'm using Sony code 0000, and have tried both plain IR programming and creating my own 1000 code upgrade with KM. The remote is a URC-6012 (upgraded with EEPROM). I know the upgrade is good because I used it to add a Cyberhome DVD player code.

Thanks. I knew the info was probably hiding in plain sight.

Here's another odd thing I want to try:
Is it possible to create some form of device-specific macro? Basically, I would like to program some unused TV keys (the PIP oriented ones) to send specific channels. Each will be 3 codes (num, num, enter). I was wondering if it was possible to use KM/IR to make some multi-EFC code?

DSMs (Device Specific Macros) can be found in the Special Protocols spreadsheet in the Special Protocols folder.
