Send IR codes from Device Keys

Hi, I'm new to all this (in fact after speaking unsuccessfully to UEI I was searching the web for a more programmable remote when I discovered JP1) Since then I’ve made a cable and successfully programmed my Eiki projector (thanks guys) and now I’m getting ambitious
Here’s my question: UEI say that I can’t send an IR command when I press a device key. Is this true? I have a URC-7562 (One For ALL 6).
Here’s what I’m trying to do:
I have a DVD player, VCR, TV tuner connected to a AMP and projector. The AMP switches audio and video. The remote can control each of the individual items just fine. However, to watch, say, TV, I have to do the following sequence and this is what I’m trying to put on 1 button:
Press AUD to select the AMP
Press 1 to make AMP select TV
Press TV to select tuner
Control TV
Likewise to change to DVD I have to repeat this sequence but choose DVD. Can I program the remote so when I press TV it sends a command or sequence of commands? Or: Can I program another key (e.g. the A function key) so that when I press the key it sends commands and then selected the TV device as though I had pressed the TV device key?
Thanks for your help,
- Andy
