Removing/ Hiding Non function assigned Buttons

I have a 9600 and i'd like to hide/ remove all the buttons that arn't assigned a function.
for example on my AUX grp i want to to only have 4 buttons displayed. so is it possible to hide there's
Can i do it? and how
i've looked throught KM, IR and the extender2 but can't see any thing that stands out
atm the moment it displays lots of buttons which arn't assigned any function this is confusing the wife

Unfortunately, the display of buttons is controlled by the remote and can't be customized by the user.

Isn't the 9600 a Kameleon? Different keys light up for different devices on that if I'm correct.
Could an extender we written to achieve this Mark?

I am not sure what a 9600 is but if it is one of the current Kameleons I can confirm that an extender
can not change which buttons appear on the screen. The screen is controlled at the hardware level and there is nothing in the ROM code that lets you choose which buttons within the screen illuminate only which screen is illuminated.
