Newbie Question on Sony Receiver

Picked up a new Sony STR-DE695 receiver this past weekend, I have a 15-1195 remote and also a 15-2117 remote. I have switched my reciever over to AV1 (from AV2) and tried "old" Sony codes which did not work. As a newbie and just beginning the to learn JP1, what is the next step I should try? Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by tried "old" Sony codes which did not work? The "old" codes should at least have controlled the volume and power if the receiver was in AV1 mode.

Hi Mike - By old codes, I mean the Sony codes in my original Radio Shack remote manual (probably 3 or 4 different choices), which did not turn on/off power, etc. I will re-try this step in AV1 mode again, just wanted to make sure I was on the right track. I'll keep you posted.

Just realized from another thread I was only using the remote to change to AV1 and I need to change to AV1 on the receiver itself (doh), I will try tonight and keep you posted.
