My FIRST stupid question of the day.

This is the JP1 beginners forum. There's no such thing as a stupid question in here, so post away, but this forum is just for JP1 users and people considering JP1, non-JP1 users please use the appropriate forum above!

My FIRST stupid question of the day.

Post by Wheelie4 »

I downloaded and looked a some Sciantific Atlanta upgrade text and rmdu files. I didn't find any with the # key (for aspect ratio/format screen). If I have the Hex code for this key from a CCf file is there a way to add this code to a downloaded upgrade? (I actually have a Pace DC550 HD cable box but it uses the exact same codes as the SA's)

The best way is to use the DecodeCCF program to dump (to a txt file) all the Pronto Hex in your CCF, translated to protocol/device/subdevice/OBC form.

Verify that the protocol/device/subdevice of the command matches the setup info of the upgrade, then just add a new line in the functions tab for that function name and its OBC.

If you prefer, you can use the JP1 enhanced version of IrTool on a single Pronto Hex string instead of DecodeCCF on the whole file (but in a few cases DecodeCCF on the whole file gives a better answer).

By George I think I did it. :D I used the decodeccf way. The protocol/device/subdevice info matched up. Thanks a whole heepin johnsfine. Ofcourse I can't test it since I haven't a remote yet.

Now to figure out the device multiplexor trick. ;)
