Due to my recent incredible success in the "spouse approval of the remote" category, I decided to share a couple of macros, in case you hadn't thought of them yet. On my 6131 I created a macro on the Next Track button (two forward arrows) that consists of PVR, ADVANCE, ADVANCE, ADVANCE, ADVANCE, ADVANCE, ADVANCE. As I have the Advance button set to trigger the 30 second skip, this automatically forwards through 3 minutes of commercials. I also included a macro on the Previous Track button of REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT. This brings me back 28 seconds if I overshoot a short commercial block. Again, the wife loves it because of the convenience, and I love it because I don't worry so much about wearing out the buttons.

If you want to be able to use the next & prev track buttons in other modes, you could re-create those macros using the DSM (device specific macro) special protocol. Another alternative is to overlay the macros in the other device modes with keymoves.
Just FYI, I have on my "to do" list to create a new hacked Tivo protocol that includes codes for just such occassions. We already have this functionality in our hacked ReplayTV protocol. _________________ Rob

I have the URC-6131 and am running the extender for that remote. I have LKP's and other Macros setup. I would like to setup the macros in this post using the DSM special protocol, but can't figure out how. Can anyone give me a pointer? |
