does extender require upgrade for every device?

Post by chas6000 »

when using an extender, do you have to have, and use, an upgrade for every device, or can you still use the 'setup code' to setup for a device if this is adequate for your needs?

in other words, are the internally stored setup codes (in the remote memory) still accessible and usable with an extender? or once you go the externder route, you have to use upgrades for all devices?

thanks much!

In short, yes. The internally stored codes are held in a seperate memory space and are thus not affected by the installation of an extender. If you are serious about your remote usage, I highly recommend an extender if one is available for your remote.
