JP1 Remotes

I have found the discrete code for my Marantz DVD player for the Pronto. How can I translate this into a code that I can use with my OFA 8811?

Do I use the IRTool? If yes which codes do I use for JP1?

If you decode either of those with IRTool it reports RC6 protocol, device 4, command 12 (EFC 050). I assume that is the power toggle command for your DVD.

If you use normal JP1 methods to reproduce that signal, I expect you would reproduce the power toggle.

They both look like unclean learns. Maybe that distortion from a perfect power toggle is the reason it works as a discrete. If that were true, you'd need to understand more about why it works before you could reproduce it.

I thought Marantz had clean discrete codes. Maybe this Pronto Hex you found is just wrong.

Anyway, Jon knows more about this topic than I do and will probably jump in with the right answer soon.

There is a big ccf file at the Marantz website that has commands for many Marantz devices.

According to that, Marantz DVD's apparently use RC5x:4.12:1 for ON and and RC5x:4.12:2 for Off

You will need to add the "no button" device upgrade -- already set for the 8811

Upgrade Code 0 = 36 82 (Cable/1666)
73 00 01 1B 1B 1B 1B
End

Then using Key moves in IR using hex (not EFC) assign these to the keys of your choice:

Discrete On=CF E1
Discrete Off=CF D1

I have also posted a device upgrade in case some one needs this for another Remote model .
