This is probably a dumb question, but I'm looking at buying a new remote try and consolidate 4 different remotes.

I just bought a new Toshiba TV - 65hx93, also have a SONY HT, onkyo dvd, Philips VCR, and DIsh Satellite.

But my simple question is this. The new Toshiba remote has a number keey labeled 100 that also serves as a - (dash) to key in digital tv channels (2-1 for digital channel 2)

In looking at the OFA remotes, I don't see any key labelled 100 or labeled dash. Will I still be able to directly enter selections for digital channels with an OFA remote? (actually, none of the other remotes I've looked at had one of these keys either).

Thanks!

RIck

You'll have to do something to put the meaning of the 100 key from the toshiba remote onto a key on the OFA remote. This something can be a keymove which you might be able to enter on the remote (depending on whether the 100 key is mapped and whether the protocol is a 1-byte protocol or a two byte one). You could also accomplish this with learning (on a learning enabled remote, of course).

The simple answer is, with JP1, this will definitely be possible. Without JP1 using an OFA remote it might be possible.

Toshiba TVs use TV/0156, which uses the 1-byte NEC protocol, so you will absolutely be able to re-program a spare button to work the "100" command, so you just need to chose a remote that has an acceptable spare button.

The advanced code you need is 055, as found here:
