Is there a known issues that I'm not aware of with putting commands on the shift-power button on the URC-8800?

The code works fine on other buttons and IR.exe allows me to make a keymove to the shift-power button, but the remote refuses to send any code when shift then power is pressed.

Is there a work around that does not require an extender? Will the extender for this remote solve the problem?

Thank.

Okay, now I'm really confused. I just remembered reading somewhere that the SETUP button also acts as a shift in some cases. I tried it and to execute shifted commands, I need to use the SETUP button before the keypress.

The remote also has a SHIFT button that puts an 'S' in a box on the LCD, but doesn't seem to execute shifted commands.

Can someone explain this to me? I've solved my problem, but I don't understand how the thing works.

Thanks, I remember reading that before, but it was a while ago. Sorry to ask a question that has obviously been answered before.

Try the extender out -- it makes both shift buttons the same! It will also remove any restrictions on macros and keymoves.
