JP1 Remotes

I've done some searching of the forum, and haven't found anything about this specific remote. I see the 1057 model, but the 1067 version has more buttons, PVR related (yay!). It says 'JP' on the 6 pin block, but i'm guessing the 1.1 is hidden under the plastic side, and it is a 'flash' non-JP1 programmable type. -sigh-

That being said, I still think I can use this as a replacement for the smaller less-buttoned Hauppauge PVR-250 silver remote I have. Basically, I can't seem to make this thing register anything, and I'm stumped. What I need is the RC-5 System Code (00-31) for the cable button, so I can learn which buttons are associated with which codes (00-63).

Any help would be appreciated. Any general information about this remote and/or the JP1 part also would be helpful. I can take pictures of the remote if that is of use. If someone describes how to take it apart (without breaking it), I'll take pix of the inside, as well as confirm it is JP1.1.

If you do a search on "comcast URC-1057BG0" you will find a couple of threads that confirm that "JP1.1" remotes will not work with our current JP1 tools.

To work the Hauppauge PVR-250 you need RC-5, device code 31, then you can use the advanced codes listed here: Hauppauge_PVR250_Capture_Card.txt.

As you can't load an upgrade into the Comcast remote, you'll need to find a setup code that has device code 31 as one of it's three device codes. The good news is that device code 31 translates to 00 in hex, which just happens to be what they use for unused device codes. So, see if your remote has VCR/0110, this remote should have device code 31 as the 2nd and 3rd device codes.
