My initial attempt at getting the SA4200HD HiDef Cablebox entered into the 1994 has met with failure - something weird was going on, as I entered the OBC into KM, the corresponding EFC as reported by IR, didt match - the Protocol was Old Panasonic, with a device of 27 I think

Anyone broken this cat doen yet?

Scientific Atlanta does use Old Panasonic protocol with device 27.

In that protocol, there are three possible EFCs for each OBC.

It is possible to specify three different device numbers, so that each of the three EFCs for a given OBC selects a different device number.

If you set up only one device number, KM will set the fixed data so that all three EFCs for each OBC work equally well.

I still don't understand your problem description. Which EFC reported by IR didn't match what? In decoding a learned signal, IR should report all three possible EFCs and the first one should match what KM generated. When IR views the contents of a device upgrade loaded from KM, it should show exactly the same EFC as KM showed.

I think using OBC's you need to enter a 3 in Byte2:Dev# (column C) to call the first device. Panasonic (old) is a mini-combo protocol and IIRC, the call order being 3,1,2 and the default is blank (or zero) and, if all that is so, 0 is the invalid EFC.
