I created the transister based serial cable for my one for all urc7960. I tried downloading the remote data but remote master shows no remote found.

can someone help me in debugging the problem.

I am connecting the cables based on the pin number of the jp1 connector on the remote.

using windows 10 64bit, with remote master 2.03

Thank you

well, the primary suspect is the cable that you built, so my guess is people will need a lot more info on the cable in order to help.

Is this primarily an exercise and trying to build something yourself or do you just want a working cable? Because if it's the latter, I would just spend the $9 on buying a cable on ebay.

I have a serial port on my pc, and the circuit of the cable was not difficult. so i decided to create it myself.

the link you posted, isnt it a usb to serial cable only??

sorry if i am wrong.

Maybe I misunderstood what you are trying to do. The cable that I linked you to is a USB cable that can be used to program a JP1 remote, the only thing missing from it is a standard 6-hole JP1 connector, but if you are able to build your own devices, I assumed that wouldn't be a problem.

Thank You Robman for the link.

The cable is USB TTL Serial. The only difference between the original serial on our PC and this is the vcc voltage, which is 5 volts or 3.3 volts for high in this.

however i am confused about the pinouts. you are not connecting the vcc, i.e the pin 1. and pin 5 on the remote side?

are we suppose to remove pin 1 and pin 5 on the jp 1.3 cable??

thank you in advance.

Since these facts are a surprise, you've probably built the wrong interface. I don't remember any JP1.3 interfaces that connect pin 5. Please post a link to the plans you used.
