RMIR has been working great for me for years and suddenly I'm now getting this error. I rebooted but that didn't help. I was running 2.02a so I clean installed 2.03 build 10 and that didn't help either. I uploaded rmaster.err: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=13907 |

I take it from your post that the error message started while you were still running v2.02a, so it appears that the cause lies outside RMIR. There is nothing obviously wrong in your rmaster.err file, other than the failure to find any remote, so it doesn't point to any cause.
What remote are you trying to download? Had you made any change to your system between v2.02a last working and it starting to give this message? At present I have no clue as to what might have gone wrong. BTW Did this start happening some time ago? I ask because you installed build 10 rather than the current latest which is build 14. _________________ Graham |

I just figured it out as I was working on a reply! I wasn't getting a com port listed in device manager for my usb cable, but I was getting an "FT232R USB UART" device listed, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and now it shows up and works.
I'm not sure what happened to my system since I last successfully used RMIR a month ago but at least it's working now.
Thanks! |
