Hi Rob,

I've always been interested in this process. I once saw a demonstration how to do this from a website in Germany. Text was in German! I've tried other solutions and every one of them just wanted to infect me. The problem is I don't have my notes on this any more, so I don't remember the official site that will do it, I only remember it ended in ".de".

I took a brief look at the 1977 video. I know you've always been a music buff. If I recall correctly your wife was in a band. What is your interest in this video?

I can dump this video to DVD, but it will even be a little more pixallated and there is a blue progression bar across the bottom of the screen. I would run this full screen on my computer and then dump it to my external DVD recorder by running it through an HDMI to AV converter. Like I said it is a little fuzzier, but the sound is still good. I'd be happy to do this. Only thing I need to do is set up a remote to operate the DVD recorder.

Yeah, I've always been a music fan and one of my favorite bands is Marc Bolan and T-Rex (you remember "Bang A Gong" right?). Back in 1977 they asked Marc to do a six episode variety show where in addition to his band performing they would have invited guests come on and do songs too. All the other 5 episodes are on youtube, and I know how to rip those, but this one episode was blocked from youtube because of the fact that the Bay City Rollers are on it (like anyone cares about them).

I have ripped the other episodes and now have them available for ReplayTV users via our Poopli.com service, but I am still missing this one episode.

If you do rip it for me, ultimately, I need it in .mpg format so if you can save it in that format to start with, that would be cool. You can send me the file using http://WeTransfer.com

And yeah, my wife has been in several bands. She spent the entire 80s in a band called Get Smart! ( http://www.getsmartmusic.com ) and has also been in bands like Dolly Varden and the Honeybees.
