Can it be the case that direct switching to AV channels will not work because the tv just doesn't support it?

My Phillips tv does work with the 0556 and 0054 preset codes but the direct AV switching options don't work at all.
Even with downloaded upgraded presets it's a no go.

Here is a summary of a Pronto ccf file Posted at the Philips website for "discrete commands" converted to EFC's for TV/0054. EFC Not Available means that the command doesn't exist in TV/0054. I would try any input command on this list. For some reason Philips has been very inconsistent about these AV input commands as you can see from the list:

BTW, if none of these work I believe that Ch+ will always take you to tuner, so a macro for Ch+|AV Toggle = AV1, Ch+|AV Toggle|AV Toggle = AV2, etc.

Thanks, but i've seen your post already and tried a bunch of them but still no go.
Will try the "leftovers" though.

But do i understand it correctly that normally the direct av switch options should work?
