6131 and Outlaw Audio. Help

Post by quijibo »

I've been messing around with my new 6131(thanks Rob), trying to program it to run my Outlaw Audio 950 pre-amp/tuner. I found a KM.txt file(thanks Puddah) and got it into KM and made an upgrade code(tuner/1950) I then brought it over to IR. Everything seemed to work right so I uploaded it to my remote. The problem is that it doesn't control my pre-amp. It doesn't even turn it on. I'm using the 6131 extender.
As you may have guessed, I'm pretty new to this and I'm definitely not a programmer. I did, however, successfully program my 8811 to run my pre-amp(except the tuner). Is there something special about this remote that I should be looking for?

Rob, thanks for writing the JP1 made easy, I was planning on giving up on this, burying the remote and never speaking of it again until you made me realize how easy it really is.

Thanks in advance.

There is one fundemental difference in this remote. It use 2 byte keymoves so any keymoves in the upgrade will not work as they are based on the standard single byte. If the KM file was for a different remote and you changed it in KM to the 6131 then it should work assuming it worked in another remote for you.

I am also assuming that you changed the remote in IR before you installed your upgrades.

You amy want to upload your KM file and IR file to the jp1 diagnostics file area so someone can get a look at it. Don't forget to postr a link to it here.
