These answers don't add up, the 9910 is a learning remote, so please re-answer question #10. _________________ Rob

So, your answer to Question #10 changed from "no" to "yes" and you consider that an answer? Did you actually read the question?

If you don't have a learning JP1 remote or you no longer have the original OEM remote, just put "n/a" for this question.
However, if you DO still have the original remote AND your UEI remote is a learning remote AND you have a JP1 cable, please state what is stopping you from capturing the signals yourself and using that data to create an upgrade? If you've tried and not had any success, please describe what problems you encountered.
If you've tried learning the buttons, but RMIR doesn't display any useful info (eg, it lists some sort of "gap" protocol, or no protocol at all), please post a copy of the IR file that contains the learned signals in the Diagnosis Area, then post the template (and a link to the file) in the Protocol Decodes forum. This is where the experts really earn their stripes, as we'll try to decode the signals and create an upgrade to replicate them.

Ah OK I get where you are coming from (I think...). Really with a new device, I do the following in this order:
1) Determine if device is natively supported by remote
2) If not, search JP1 forum for upgrade file
3) Load upgrade file and download over JP1
4) If all that fails, try the learning feature as a last resort
5) Proceed to JP1 forum Diagnosis area if there are issues
So I was at step 2. This is after all the "Code Search" area. I appear to have been in error. ZVOX is probably a lost cause that way so I'll proceed to step 4. |

Yes, I think you've got it now. You post a Code Search request when all else fails because now you're asking other people to do the work for you, which we're happy to do but only once you've shown some willingness to do some work yourself. Because we put so much time and effort into helping others here, we despise people who are too lazy to help themselves.
So, bottom line, learn all the buttons from your Zvox remote and build an upgrade from them. If you lack the skills to do that, ask for help and we'll help, but we would need your learned files (ie, your RMIR or IR files). _________________ Rob
