Icons for Xsight and Nevo
If you find or make any icons, post 'em here (upload to HERE and post link and optionally a screen shot).
Rules:
- Max of 72x34 pixels. If over-sized they are automatically reduced, but they turn out better if your resize them yourself.
- PNG on transparent background is best
- Lighter colors work best since button background on the remote is dark
https://pixlr.com/editor/ is a good free online graphics editor.
Sources for icons include Google (image search logo name plus "png"), most TV guide listing sites (Zap2It , TitanTV, MSN or TVGuide for example) as well as Harmony icon sites like IconHarmony. You can also get logos from Lyngsat or by downloading and installing MCL (MyChannelLogos, many of which I've posted HERE).
Some built-in icons can also be associated with activities and devices and can be assigned in RMIR.
Here's my first batch of icons including Roku streaming services (Netflix, Amazon, etc.), Tivo (thumbs up/down, Tivo, Slo-mo), Xbox, MCE, red/green/blue/yellow buttons and several channel logos for major networks and local subchannels.
Editing tips:
- If a logo is too dark, lasso the dark parts and increase the brightness or invert the colors
- Crop to remove empty borders
- When searching for logos in Google, use the terms logo or icon and transparent and png
Note: Icons and Logos are saved in your RMIR file, not your RM file. So when adding devices to any RMIR file, you'll have to assign the individual logos again.
EDIT: Xsight / Nevo icon database is now live on IconHarmony
This supersedes most of the Harmony and MCL logos posted above.
EDIT2: IconHarmony is defunct as of 11/2022. There is a large icon library on Github TVLogos

						Resizing
I've resized all of the above MyChannelLogos to a max of 72x34 using picresize.com http://www.picresize.com/batch.php
That site will let you upload and resize 100 pics at a time. But you can run multiple sessions simultaneously. For remote icons and logos, use PNG format and Custom height or width depending on the aspect ratio of the existing pic. If width divided by height is less than 2.12, then resize the height, otherwise resize the width. In other words, if the icon isn't about twice as wide as it is tall already, resize the height. If it is already twice as wide or wider, resize the width.

Re: Icons for Xsight and Nevo
How do you employ these buttons when there doesn't appear a way to use imported icons on anything but Favorite channels?mdavej wrote: Here's my first batch of icons including [....] (thumbs up/down, Tivo, Slo-mo) [....]

I made three icons for the C2, however they are device based.
With my TV, I have discrete input buttons, so I made icons label's which say the fallowing:
Chromecast Input, PS3 input, and RetroPie input.
I am not user where to upload them as they files section is limited to channels, local sub-channels, and streaming/command icons.
I would like to share them for anyone interested in using them, but I am not sure on the specifics.
They are basic, but I like them better then just plan text.
