JP1 Remotes

Hello,

I am hoping someone still has this information. I have a RC65RX remote from DirectTV and I wanted to add the JP1.3 modification so I can reprogram it. I have seen several post on this remote, but the thread always ends with "I know the modification, but it is too difficult." I was hoping, even though it may be difficult, that someone does have these steps to modify a RC65RX remote.

Just solder some wires to the JP1.3 pads shown below:

Great science experiment, but not worth the trouble IMO. There are many other JP1 remotes that are far better which need no mods. Even if you program it, the remote itself is still very limited. What exactly are you hoping to accomplish? Give me the big picture.
