First, I would really like to thank Tommy for this excellent product!!! I got the USB JP1 interface.

The communication was quick as was the shipping and easy payment.

It installs perfectly on my XP home machine without any problems.

However it is a no go on Vista 64 bit with any of the drivers available - including the newest. Kinda sad 'cause I wanted to use it with my laptop to help set up friend's remotes.

But still an excellent product and a first class transaction.

Thanks again,

GLT

I got Tommy's newest JP1.x cable and have it working perfectly under Vista 64. It didn't like the newest but works flawless when I used the CDM 2.04.06 WHQL Certified drivers.

GLT's problems were with the JP1 (EEPROM) USB cable that uses the Delcom drivers. The JP1 (Flash) cables use different drivers, but it's good to hear that they work with Vista 64.

I have received the USB JP1.2/3 interface in only 10 days (Zaragoza, Spain is quite far from Colorado..) and I am fully satisfied with it.

I have tested it and works perfectly with Vista 32 and XP.
(The only tricky thing is to change the COM port selected automatically during installation to one lower than COM10, otherwise the JP1xtest program will not recognize the connected remote).

The week-end has not finished and I have reprogrammed, upgraded, "macroed"... my OFA urc-7950 without problems and played a lot with all this stuff, thanks to Tommy's interface. I strongly recommend it.

Got the IR Widget from Tommy.

What I wanted was a Super learning device to do whole remotes in rapid time.

WELL....IT'S GREAT. Buy one.

The sub-device was in question, but it displays if the transmission sends one.

Yes, you can use a learning remote and get the job done, but this device conpletes the job atleast 4 times faster.

Load up IR Scope with decodeIR.dll setup the proper COM port, set the capture duration to say 10000 and you can send a dozen key stokes in one shot. NO remote download.

Enter these in your Remote Master or KeyMaster file.

Repeat until you have learned all the the new remotes codes. DONE

Thank you

Tommy

Tommy, I'm finally getting around to putting my widget into service.

I'm running windows XP and am having difficulty deciding which of the drivers I need. Do I need the one from uncertified October, or the Certified one from March.

I'm still using the certified version, but I don't know what the difference is. Just try one or the other.

Tommy,

I received the USB JP1.2/3 (Flash) cable today, and it's working great with my RS 15-135. I did discover that I had to remove the outer clip on the interface cable in order for it to fit. Apparently, the RS 15-135 has a smaller opening.

Thanks!!

Dennis

Just FYI, Tommy sells a special adapter for remotes with small openings.

Thanks. I had missed that. Any downside to removing the outer clip, though? It seems to work just fine.

Tommy says this in his post, but it bears repeating. If you do remove the outer clip, you may want to reinforce with a few dabs of super glue or epoxy since you stress the connection every time you unplug it. Otherwise it can come apart eventually.

I've been using mine that way (glue reinforced) quite frequently for over a year now and it's still like new.

Some just enlarge the opening on the remote with a utility knife. That works too, but looks terrible.

Que tal XOXO,

The link to the Widget operating program and the USB driver are given at this location.
