I have a friend who has the above remote and he uses it for almost everything. I helped him with making a cable and needless to say he's hooked so we have another JP1.x user (I will try to get him to join the forum)
Anyway my question is ??
He has a Sony TV XBR-55HX929 and he does not have the original Sony remote so he uses the 8820N with the original 1317 code which does all of the basic functions but say I want to add a button do I have to make a full upgrade?
Ex: find what code each button has make a full *.RMDU file (For every function number 1, 2, 3 Enter, etc) or can I just add and change what one button does or is it all or nothing?
Thanks
PS usually i just do the whole mode my self but he has a bunch of learned signals |

It varies, but in this case you could add just the few additional commands you need either with or without even connecting the cable. But we already have a full upgrade for that TV that you could simply load rather than punch in a lot of numbers on the remote or enter them in RMIR.
To add commands without loading the upgrade, you'd open the upgrade to find the correct EFCs, then add them on the Key Move tab, then download. Alternately, since you have to open the upgrade anyway, just add it and download. About the same effort either way. The latter gives you every possible command and a lot more flexibility and customization. |
