I think you'll lose some data switching protocols in RM. You need to edit the file in notepad, but I'm not sure exactly what should change. I'll have access to a PC with RM tomorrow, or we can wait for 3FG.

If he fixed it already no need for you to redo it unless you just want to try for yourself. I haven't tried the remote so there very well could be data loss. If I can find a file compare tool I can see if there is a byte difference. It's been years since I did that stuff. Sorry to make your life miserable with this. I appreciate all your help.

I didn't post the edited RMIR file because I don't know the correct Sony data. As far as I can see only OBC 113 has been mentioned, so I don't know if the IR protocol is Sony 12, Sony 15, or Sony 20, or what the device number(s) may be.
So I've made it Sony15 device 48.

If this doesn't work, please post a RMIR file from a reset remote, and the RMDU files for the Sony and Samsung DVR upgrades. We should be able to generate a good RMIR file from that.

This is a clean install. I will post the RMDU shortly.

Both files from EZ-RC after a 981 reset.

Nylaw, can you confirm that you upgraded the firmware on your remote? If you didn't, that might explain these anomalies.

Not sure how to fix the Sony yet, but you could just use this upgrade instead:

To fix the Samsung, in RM pick the Samsung36 protocol from the drop down and save. Or use this upgrade:

Yes I can confirm. When I first got the remote it called for the FW update. I assume the 981 reset leaves the firmware as is?

I did figure the Samsung out before but I thought I would post it so maybe someone could pinpoint the issue. I will look at your links thanks again!

I just noticed something not sure it matters. The remote is listed as a Nevo2 but there is also the proper model number, the AR number. You think that could causing this?

Remote model should be ok. Nevo C2 is identical to the Color, 8602 and 15G except for the RDF name. I've compared the RDFs, and they're all identical (except as noted below).

981 doesn't affect the firmware.

Mathdon, comparing the above RDFs, the 8602 version is missing the line:

Hold=$FE:AllBind+AllFavData+groupHold,

just above the line:

Null=$FF:All

Not sure if that's significant or not.

One other error, though only cosmetic, is that the Nevo C2 description should be 15-device instead of 18-device.

Could it just be those files on EZ-RF are corrupt or does it have to be something RMIR?

I also wonder if someone with a different remote dloaded those files how they would look in RMIR.

PM me your login, and I'll give it a shot. I have both Nevo and Color versions I can try.

The EZ-RC file could be corrupt. But I think they just might be slightly different in a way we did not expect.

Where did you find the OBC for your Sony? As 3FG said, just the OBC is not enough information. We need device, subdevice and protocol (Sony12, 15 or 20) as well.

Excellent. So your code uses Sony20, Device 16, Subdevice 40.

Got your PM. I'll try it tonight.

My download appears to be identical to yours:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=13340

No need to understand those numbers. Just put them in the other columns in addition to the OBC, since that alone doesn't tell the whole story.
