I just ordered a Pioneer DVR-510H-S DVD recorder which should arrive next week. What code will work for this on a RS 2116/2117? Are there any discrete codes available?

Very Happy Thanks, Art

I don't think there is a built in setup code in the RS 2116/7 but here are the commands from a ccf file. The discrete power commands have been reported to work on at least one model. Note that these are protocol:device:OBC and a number of them have two different sequential commands. It will take one of the Pioneer multiple command protocols to work further described in the KM Master protocols.readme file:

Thanks Jon. That was a big help. I dug out the KM protocols text, fired up Keymap Master and was able to develop a complete text file that I uploaded to my 15-2117. I received the Pioneer DVR-510h-S yesterday and I was able to use the 2117 for many of the Pioneer DVD watching and recording functions. I also learned additional commands from the Pioneer remote to a spare OFA-9910 remote and added them to the list that you sent. I am using the 2117 in the extended mode so I can't use it to learn new commands.

Once I get the the text file for the Pioneer 510 cleaned up and refined I will probably post it.

As an aside I discovered that the IR blaster from a Samsung 160 STB will control the RECORD and STOP function of the Pioneer 501. So I can automatically record DirecTV programs directly to the Pioneer HDD and burn them to DVDs.

Regards, Art

This is a very common mis-conception. The extender is just an upgrade, it doesn't do anything permanent to the remote, so if the 15-2117 was your only remote, you could easily back up your current IR.exe image, then re-load a pre-extender image to return the remote to how it was before you loaded the extender.

Then you could learn the signals in question and decode them, then when you're finished, you could re-load the IR.exe image that includes the extender.

Thanks Rob. I understand that. It is just easier and faster to use another learning remote to determine the codes, enter them into KM, transfer to IR and upload the upgrade.
