I have a URC-7555 which is wearing out. They are obsolete. I see there is an RDF for the URC-7556 but that is also obsolete (though I see at least one on Amazon UK).

There is no RDF for the URC-7557 which is the current version. Given how close the RDF's for the previous two models are, I'm wondering if the RDF for a 7556 or 7555 can be used with a 7557?

The URC-7557 has the same signature (10751075) as the 7555 and 7556, so it should work. User tonydix reported that he was able to use IR.exe to program a 7557, but had trouble with RMIR. User id10t took a raw download with RMIR, but had trouble saving a RMIR file. However, that was using the Excelsior Jet version of RMIR2.02 Beta. We've stopped distributing the Excelsior version because it causes problems with more recent Java installations. I'm sure that we can get it working with RMIR, and I would expect it to work immediately using the 7556 RDF.

It just arrived. I downloaded into RMIR without touching any buttons. I got the usual prompt asking me whether it was a 7555 or 7556 so chose 7556.

It is physically identical to the 7556 except for the model number sticker on the battery cover.

I loaded the saved .rmir file that I use for the 7556 - it appears to work perfectly.

Is there an import/export function or do you have to do it some other way?

Update: see my post of today. There is a difference between them in that the mute key doesn't work on the 7557 but does on the 7556.
