Remote Control for Thomson DCI804

Good evening.

I am quite desperate now. I've got the Slingbox and installed it in Portugal. It is in my parents house attached to the NOS (TV Cabo/Zon). Installation went smooth and I can watch Portuguese tv in UK.

The only thing that went wrong was the remote control. I am normally quite stubborn and find resolutions for most IT issues. But on this occasion I feel I can't reach a happy ending.

I tried all models including custom ones for other TV Cabo boxes. And tried other brands like sky and technicolor. But nothing seams to work.

After googling and visiting different forums I could only find a request for this on the Slingbox website which has some few years of existence. I did put a vote against.

I was wondering if someone could help me getting this remote control or something that makes the box work?

Than you in advance ;)

As far as I can see this box has the same internals as these:

Thomson DCI 82CAB
Thomson DCI 7211

And they are both available in the File Section.

The instructions will be well out-of-date, so follow these: http://placeshiftingenthusiasts.com/how ... -slingbox/

Hi Alanrichey

No luck still

I just tried both files and still no luck. The Zip file has different names bit the .bin files are both C2010. I have tryed on the desktop and on the website.

The only file I found for the Thomson DCI 82CAB was the Thomson DC182CAB PVR STB so that was the one I have tried which is also C2010.

I have followed the instructions on both the read me file and the one on the link you have shared.

Thank you for your help

I use C2010 for all the Custom Remotes I build, so that is no surprise. I think there are over 1000 of them out there.

And you can't have followed the instructions or you would have reported back the answers to the 9 questions I asked you to look at.

Care to try again ?

Once again thank you for your prompt reply.

I very stupidly scrolled down the page missing the questions. So please find my answers below:

1. What model Slingbox do you have? I've got slingbox solo

2. Was there any error message after you typed in the Code and tapped the Test button? No. The streaming pauses for 1 or 2 seconds. When pressing next it says that there is no guide for the remote.

3. Did you give the commands plenty of time to react? (I have a DVR that takes about 6-8 seconds to power up/down) Yes. I gave it 20 seconds on some occasions

4. If you are using a Solo did you try both BIN files? Yes. On the different folders I have tried.

5. After completing the setup do any of the buttons work? No. The streaming pauses every time a press a channel, the power button or the up and down on the channels buttons which suggests it is going to do something but then time goes and nothing changes.

I am now working through the following questions and will update you as soon as I can ;)

Meanwhile here are the zip files I have tried:
Thomson DCI-8220
Thomson DCI-7211
Thomson DC182CAB
Technicolor DSI 810
@SkyBox F3

I tried Sky box because many sky boxes are also Thomson so I thought I should give it at try. The Technicolor keep showing on all my searches for this.

Once again your support is 5 stars ;)

OK, Q4 is odd. One of the BIN files should give you an error message when you try and install it.

Done it! So glad.

Hubby when on the set up wizard and chose the codes from the code list it worked on nr 6. So glad. I can now do everything without bothering my parents...

Thank you once again for your support ;)
