LG SX930C-CC [C&M Cable Korea] Code?

Hello,

Brought my Slingbox Solo over to Korea and was just looking to use it here in Korea. Unfortunately, can't find any remote codes/files that seem to work for this cable box. (very least looking for way to simply change the channel so my mother-in-law can watch Korean tv when she gets back to the States)

The model is LG SX930C-CC and it's used for C&M Cable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need any more info, please let me know.

Thank you

No quick solution as this model hasn't appeared on the Logitech Harmony database. If you can get access to a Harmony Remote, or you can find one of the built-in devices that actually affects the box, even incorrectly, then I can help.

Just curious, what do you mean by built-in devices? I have 2 other Samsung cable boxes that the remotes work with this cable box. Does that help at all?

Thank you

The devices you are offered when you set up an input. I assume you have tried all the LG offerings ?

What are the Samsung boxes ? Are they not supported by the Slingbox either ?

Hello,

Apologies for the late reply...was on vacation.

I tried all the LG offerings that showed up, along with any other box that was associated with a Korean cable/sat TV service. Those codes did not work.

So I moved on to hooking it up to my Samsung boxes which are SMT-C5010. (I downloaded the file that was located at: https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=11875). When I used that file and pressed a button on the Slingbox on-screen remote, it made the picture/video freeze for a second and then resumed playing with no action being taken.

If nothing works, no worries...I'll just send to a friend in the States to use.

Try using the new instructions: http://placeshiftingenthusiasts.com/how ... -slingbox/

But please read them properly, you obviously didn't read the original instructions properly or you would have read this;

If you have problems please do NOT just report back it 'doesn't work', that is totally useless for someone trying to understand what is going on. So please report back with the answers to the following questions

You're right, I didn't read them. I have now and will answer the ?'s.

1. What model Slingbox do you have? Solo

2. Was there any error message after you typed in the Code and tapped the Test button? No error message appeared

3. Did you give the commands plenty of time to react? (I have a DVR that takes about 6-8 seconds to power up/down) yes, i waited 10 seconds and no change.

4. If you are using a Solo did you try both BIN files? yes, the PL worked, the RV one did not.

5. After completing the setup do any of the buttons work? no

6. If you are installing on a Solo or Pro-HD or older box that uses an external IR Blaster, have you used a Digital Camera or Mobile Phone Camera to confirm the IR Blaster is actually firing when you tap the Power button? (Watch the tip of the IR Blaster through the viewfinder while you tap a button. You should see a white (not red) flash. Test it on a real remote so you know what you are looking for). If you are using a 350/500 have you tried using the external blaster? verified that it works and moved blaster's around cable box

7. Have you experimented with the placement of the IR Blaster? On some devices this is critical so don’t give up too quickly. Try shining a flashlight at the front of the receiver and see if you can see the IR receiver behind the smoked glass. yes

8. Are you sure the device is working correctly using the real remote? yes, the boxes work w/ the real remote (unable to find model number of remote)

9. Are you sure your device is set to use IR ? Many boxes can operate on RF or IR and if it is set to RF then the Slingbox will not affect it. not sure, not sure how to determine this on the box

10. If you have a device that supports multiple remote addresses (DirecTV, Dish Network, Tivo…) are you sure the remote address is set to the default ? n/a

If you need any other info, please let me know. Thank you.

No more ideas I'm afraid, those are all results of my experience with people installing remotes. And as you can see it has been downloaded 54 times and no-one else has commented, so I can only assume the problem is at your end.

Sorry, haven't had much success have we ? :(
