ditv c5800 code

Post by chuliu »

I have a ditv c5800 cable box that I need its bin file.
I don't have its remote but I have jp1 cable and jp1 remote.
I found that it uses the same code as act tv india cisco 60 that slingbox officially suports and also many of the buttons actually works fine, like numeric buttons, power, menu, etc.

It uses nec1 device 1 and subdevice 253.

However, some of the buttons on the act tv india don't match those on the c5800.

I am thiniking about trial and error.
I wonder what the range of obc values I should try.
Is there a specific range for obc values?
I am guessing 1 to 255?

Thanks.

There are a lot of different ways to approach this.
As you mentioned there is Trial and Error. In this case it would be the values 0 to 255, but that is not always the case. When you get into the combo protocols there can be a huge number of possibilities. In addition, you often need to get the box in a state that will accept the code you are looking for. It can be quite tedious.

My preferred method is to open similar upgrades looking for different OBC values for the troublesome functions. 3FG put together an Excel spreadsheet that details the protocol, and parameters of most of the upgrades in the file section.
Download 3FG's jp1 1.1 Master
Set a filter to all the upgrades that are Device 1, Subdevice 253

There are many Nec1 1.253 upgrades. Open them, checking to see which ones have the same numbers as the Cisco upgrades, but different OBC's for the troublesome function.

Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

I would offer to help but ditv is not a recognised manufacturer on the Logitech Harmony database.

I half agree with Vicky :D , I think trial and error will work OK as this is a NEC Protocol. I do it a lot with other users. But she is right this is a very popular setup. Here are the Custom Remotes I have built (all in the File section) that use it:

Fortec Star Mercury
Qmax MST-990HD
Cisco Z260DVB
Sagem icadd82 160hd
Numericable HD Box Memory
AZ America s900
Wayteq HD95CX
GGG HD
Edison 1600CI
Golden Media Wizard HD
Az-America F98
SAB SKY 4700HD
MVHD 800C

Cheers
