Slingbox Solo IR Remote to Vodafone Portugal Set Top Boxes

Hi ppl,
I've a Slingbox Solo, and I need to program it to recognize a remote from my new Internet+TV+VOIP provider, Vodafone Portugal. I wasn't able to find nothing here or on the on the web until now. The boxes are Motorola VIP1002ESL or Cisco ISB2201. All remotes commands whatever box in the house.
But, I was able to program the HTC One TV app to read the remotes and control the set op boxes
Now I have to find a way to convert the ir_data that I've found on a SQLite file on the phone to a JP1 format that Slingbox recognizes.
Please find here
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/680 ... RRemote.db the SQLite file with the codes. The device corresponding the Set Top Boxes is called "xpto"
Does anyone can help me with this? I will be very, very happy
Regards,
Zé

Deciphering raw SQLlight into something readable would be very difficult. Perhaps it would be easier if alan helped you with the Cisco ISB2201, which appears to be in the Logitech database.

Hi,
Sorry about that. I've exported the table that's important here
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/680 ... keymap.csv . The device_id is number 2, the fields corresponding to wahtever IR codes are is ir_data. This file can be open with a text editor or whatever spreadsheet software, Excel or the corresponding functionality in OpenOffice or LibreOffice.

Table means nothing to me I'm afraid, might as well be in Greek. But I did manage to install the Cisco ISB2201 onto my Harmony and check the codes. I have uploaded the Custom Remote files at
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=12426
The Motorola VIP1002ESL appears to use the same internals as the Motorola VIP1200 and that Remote is already in the File Section.
Any good ?

Hi,
I think you will remember me from here
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15224 .
Regarding the table I don't really know if the guy who develop the app to HTC is Greek or not

That's what I can get of information.
Your file to Motorola VIP1200 I've already loaded to the Slingbox and the Set Top Box don't even blink when I try to command it from the Slingbox.
I'll give a try to the file you prepared tonight when I go home.
Thx,

In the previous thread, we asked you to check if IR was being emitted by the Slingbox using a digital camera. You haven't replied to that, and we do need to verify that the Slingbox is sending a IR signal before deciding that the VIP1200 bin isn't working.

Yes, it does, but the Set Top Box as I said doesn't even blink. If I use the old Set Top Box, Motorola 1920 it works perfectly.

alan,
Back in February he was having all sorts of trouble getting the Motorola setup, and apparently he finally did.
I think he's using a MAC if I remember correctly
"I was able to download the file using Mac SlingPlayer 1.0.10".
"I was able to upload the C2010_RV.bin file through the plugin on the browser. I think that the plugin have some difficulty to understand the right path on a Mac. I've done it on Windows. "
So,it seems to me that he finally got the Motorola 1200 to work from his last post, although he never told us so.
Now he's trying to swap out the Motorola 1200 for a different box, but the code isn't changing. When he brings back the old Motorola 1200, that's what the slingbox is able to control
So it appears from here that the code isn't changing in the slingbox. Perhaps the Mac has crazy shadowing like Windows does, so that things that appear to change really don't.
Perhaps changing the setup code number might do the trick and get the new code to load.
From here, in sunny FL, it seems to be a problem of the code not being overwritten.

That's normally only a problem with the new Slingboxes and he has an older Solo.
But I am a bit confused, aren't we waiting for him to report back on the Cisco ISB2201 remote I built ? I get the impression he has only tried the Motorla 1200 one.

Hi,
I haven't already tried the Cisco file, because I'm not at home. I can try to upload the file remotely but I don't want to mess with the box in any way.
Instead, let me tell you something. With the old boxes and remotes, that I was able to program on Slingbox as Motorola Zaptor, I have a strange phenomenon induced by a low-consumption bulb from IKEA. When I try to command the Set Top Box with the remote and the bulb was on, nothing works. When I Switch off the bulb, everything is OK.
Today with the new Set Top Box with the new remote, it doesn't matter if the bulb is switched on or off. Everything works fine.
I took sometime to realize the problem was the bulb. I found the root of the problem on the web, where a guy complains about the phenomenon with a TV and the remote. Weird, isn't it?
All this why? I think that the actual remote works in a different frequency of IR, the reason, I think, why the bulb on or off doesn't matter.
Is it possible to define the codes to be transmitted in a different frequency from the Slingbox to the new Set Top Box? I remember a guy on the Slingbox forums or wherever saying something about this.
Just an idea....

OK, I'll keep the files open until you report back.

Not too sure but I think the frequency has to match the receiver and is dependent on the IR Protocol that is used.

Alan is correct, the receiving equipment is looking for signals in a certain frequency range. I have tweaked signals frequency slightly to keep my xmp equipment to stop reacting to my sharp signals, but I haven't heard of anyone successfully tweaking a signal to get away from light interference. We often see the light interference problems from plasma TVs. The recommendation usually is to shield the receiver from the light source. My recommendation here would be to change the lightbulb.

Hi,
I've already load it, but no practical result again. I'll be home next weekend, and I'll try a reset and a load again.
Then, I'll be back with news.
Thx

Hi,
I'm home today and I've done:
1. Reset Slingbox Solo
2. Uploaded V2010_RV.bin of Cisco
3. Checked the IR emitter with a smartphone. The "light" was very weak almost unseable
4. Uploaded Motorola Zaptor IR codes (the box that was working with Slingbox in the past)
5. Checked the IR emitter again and the "light" was strong and seable, with the smartphone , of course.
Then I don't know what else to do more:(
