Trying to connect my Thomson/Technicolor DTA dci401geu2 from Mediacom to a Slingbox 500. Cannot find any codes on there that work fully. Other Thomson codes allow me to use the info button, but that is it. Thanks! |

Thanks for the reply Alan. Unfortunately the file did not work. The code for the DCI1011 allows for the info button to work, but no other buttons. I have had no luck with the Thomson and Technicolor codes already loaded on the slingbox.
The box is a simple DTA. The supplied remote only has an info button, numbers and channel up/down.

The Comcast DTA, DTA 4.0 and uDTA codes on the Slingbox also only control the info button on the remote as well.
On the technicolor DTA profile, the numbers 8 and 0 works as well.

Good. Believe it or not, that solves 90% of our problem. It means we know the underlying protocol and device numbers of you box. Now all we need to find which of the 255 possible button codes apply to each of your buttons.
So please install the Test Remote at http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=12380
This has mapped Codes 0-54 to each of the buttons on the remote, so please test EVERY button (including the 15 Custom Buttons that you get when you right-click on the remote and select Custom). and tell me which of the buttons (if any) action the Channel or Number buttons. |

I'm having issues loading that custom remote. It says invalid custom .bin file when I try to upload. I'll keep trying.

I can still upload the custom file you referred me to yesterday, but the new file will not upload. Using the PL.bin file. |

Unfortunately you cannot just change the name of the file, the code is also held internally. So that is why it greys out. And the original problem was my fault, sorry.
So http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=user_upload&file_id=12380 now has the proper file. And to be safe I have compiled it as C2013 in case C2011 & C2012 are now blocked.

Thanks Alan. The list below explains what actions I got from the remote. Most buttons that I need are working!
Button pressed = Action received
Power = 0
Reverse = nothing
Play = nothing
Forward = nothing
Skip back = setup menu
Pause = nothing
Skip forward = info
Record = nothing
Guide = nothing
Menu = nothing
Info = nothing
Up, down, left, right and select = nothing
Channel up = channel up
Channel down = channel down
Exit = nothing
page up = nothing
page down = nothing
Red, green, yellow, blue and white = nothing
1=1
2=2
3=3
4=4
5=5
6=6
7=7
8=8
9=9
0=0
Last = nothing
enter = nothing
Channel up and down at the bottom of the remote both work too
I am on a mac and did what would normally allow for right click, but no custom menu appeared. The only functions the DTA is capable of that I would need are power, channel up and down, info, and channel numbers.

So actually we are only missing Power ? But are you sure that exists ? In all the other simple DTAs I have built Custom Remote for, there is no power switch, they remain permanently on. |

This one has a power button on the existing remote and it works. The power is usually left on though.

OK, I have seen lots of devices that use the same underlying settings as this one and in EVERY case the Power function is Code 15. So before we go hunting, that code was mapped to the 'Last Channel' button on the C2013 file I sent you. That is the button to the left of the zero. So please just test in one more time to make sure you didn't miss it. |
