URC-9960 B01 No longer connects via JP1 but works with Modem

Post by rickgtx »

RM-IR shows downloading for minutes but no error or completion when I connect it to my URC-9960. After connecting the URC-9960 lights up just like changing the batteries. It has been a few years since I last programmed the remote. It seems it has lost the programing now.

Uploading attempts say no remote found. I guess I could go the IR2Wav route.

I have a pogo pin adapter for my purchased JP1 cable that works fine for my URC-6960. So after 4 years 3 out the 4 URC remotes work with my JP1 connectors (one, URC-6820, is JP1.2)

Update: I was able to use IR.exe(8.04) to create a short 30 sec Wav file of all the device upgrades I needed. Then I manually programmed the remote. The long 3 minute full upgrade Wav from RM-IR(2.02) never took. Plus I could not get the export to wav menu item not to be gray.

Note you may need to use Reset (Setup-Other-981) to enable the Modem 997 code to work.
URC's 6820, 6960, 8910, 9960
