1. Device: DC-AD2100 Black edition
2. Type of device: PVR from cable company Telenet (Belgium)
3. Year: 2012?
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC7931 (no JP1 connection)
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? No
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? No
10. Learning remote question? URC7931 seems to have no learning mode
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? Yes
I don't know if there is any possibility to let the URC7931 work with my DC-AD2100. The learning function is not mentioned in the manual, I can use code 975 and power button flickers, but it looks the remote just doesn't receive something.
Thx anyway. |

Telenet boxes use the 38KHz version of the TDC IR protocol. OneForAll remotes which support Telenet boxes use setup code Cable 1920. According to http://www.oneforall.com/support/ the 7931 does not have any setup code for Telenet. Other OFA remotes do have support.
If the 7931 can't be adapted to accept a interface cable, there isn't much you can do. |

I went to the support page and they gave me code 1784.
Seems to work!
Thanks for your help! |

Interesting--that's a Video code which also shoots TDC-38 (PID 01BB). And while OFA lists 1920 for a URC-7962 with the DC-AD2100, it doesn't think that the DC-AD2100 is supported by the 7931. So I'm glad you found it.
BTW, using Brand search in the Lookup Tool (link at the top of this page) also gives Video 1784 and Cable 1920 as possibilities, and that's another resource to remember. |

I also succeeded to add extented function codes (like a 'back' button) to the remote for the DC-AD2100. Now maybe in the feature I want to use this remote for a Hisense LTD42V88GM. This time OFA site tells me they have the model in the database, but it's not present on the 7931. I'm now wondering if I would get this working by trying all the extented function codes? |

For the URC-7962, the OFA does suggest some setup codes that should partially work, and these are all NEC1 device 0.191. The 8910 doesn't carry any of the recommended setup codes, but it does have TV 1189 and TV 1363 which shoot NEC1 0.191. So it should be practical to search through all 256 possibilities to find every available function. |
