Hello!
i also need remote control file for my Finlux DTR-FN835B -digital terrestrial receiver.
I tested all the files meant to various Finlux-devices on SlingMedia database, but none of them did nothing, and its not surprise as all of them are for really old devices, and the DTR-FN835B is not actually made by Finlux, but some cheap Chinese manufacturer, but it is branded and softwared to Scandinavia. ..

Almost.
Problems:
- Buttons 1 and 8 have changed places (when you press 1, device registers it as 8, and when you press 8, it registers it as 1).
- There is no volume control on the GUI, but it can be used from Right click -> General -> Volume up/down
Other those two problems, it works completely okay.
Menu / Info / Guide / Navigation keys etc. all work okay.
But i run across a much bigger problem, as the Finlux wont give S-Video signal through Scart, and Slingbox wont understand that its receiving composite rgb through s-video, rather than real s-video signal. So i can only get black and white picture from the Finlux. The composite input of my Slingbox is already used by the Faval satellite receiver, and despite the Faval being HD device, it can't be connected to Slingbox with HD resolution as it doesn't have Component output.
I can watch DVB-T with the tuner built in to the Slingbox, but its really bad as it wont have EPG, and the channels go to random order...

Very odd. The codes for 1-9 are actually 1-9 so it doesn't make much sense that 1 & 8 are reversed. Anyway I have built a new BIN file with the numbers swapped over and you can get it at

Better ?

In fact the Volume controls are a waste of time. You will find that Slingplayer 'hijacks' them and uses them to control it's own volume. They never get sent to the device.

Nine times out of ten an S-Video black and white picture is caused by the cable. Either one of the pins is bent or it is a cheap Chinese one that hasn't been wired correctly. I would check that.

Thanks for the new file! The 8-1 issue may sound odd, but now the Slingbox controls the Finlux properly.
But the black&white issue stays. I have tried two different S-video cables, and two different scart to s-video/composite adapters with no difference. When i tried to connect DVD-player with s-video jack to Slingbox, the picture worked immediately properly in color. So the problem is that the Finlux doesn't have a s-video jack, and the picture wont work properly through Scart->S-video adapter. Any ways to fix this?
(and Faval Mercury HS 100 also works only black and white with S-Video)

Good, I'll issue it.

Sounds like it is box problem. Either a dodgy connection or they are not following the SCART standard properly.

I got it now working 100 %.
How? i connected the Finlux through coaxial cable (analog pal tv-signal)
The "coaxial" section of Slingbox allowed to select "External Box", and then i was able to use the remote control features while watching analog signal coming from the Finlux.
One problem was that the "External box" selection didn't had channel search so i couldn't get any picture, but i fixed this issue by first finding the channel through "analog antenna" selection, and then the Slingbox kept the channel automatically on when going back in menu and selecting "External Box".
Thank you Alan for your help through the process!

Good lateral thinking

Glad it's all sorted
