Need help for VDigi cp-857s

Post by ckiwoo »

My ei8ht is broken after a few years of service. I bought a new VDigi CP-857S. Unfortunately, it is not supported by slingbox by default. Would anyone be able to help? Thanks x 10000

I can't find this box in the Logitech Harmony IR database so can't help. I assume you have tried the 2 VDigi Custom Remotes in the File Section ?

C2010 matches a few keys which include 1, 5, 7 and mute.. but not the important keys like power and channel.

just saw another post how the problem is solved with logitech remote. I don't have logitech remote. I was hoping to use IR port in smartphone. Unfortunately, my family only has iphone and xperia. Both of them don't have IR  .. maybe it's time to change to samsung.

Alan, do you think it's possible for me to get the remote IR code from the TV box manufacturer directly? is there an universal standard I should request for? Thanks!

OK, answering each posting in turn :D

1. It's no good quoting C2010. That is the code I use for all the Custom Remotes I build, so there are 600+ C2010 files out there. Which is the Model you tried ?

2. It's only solved with a Logitech remote if the device is in the Logitech database. It isn't.

3. Possibly, but there is no need. If the C2010 you tried even partially worked it won't take long to figure it out.

So I just need to know which file to use.

I got the file from:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... 18b7457ab1

I am using RV BIN Files for the VDiGi VD-1206. I got the following responsive keys:
8 becomes 2
9 becomes fast forward
channel up becomes play
channel down becomes 7
0 becomes sound channel
4 becomes volume up
5 becomes last
ok becomes pause
info becomes backward
record becomes subtitle
fast forward becomes mute
up becomes 5
right becomes EPG
power becomes 9

Well mine is guesswork based on a misreading anyway. When I read VDigi, I didn't see the V and opened Digisomething else. When he posted the functions worked what, the OBCs seemed to line up with this totally unrelated STB device. Heck its not even Nec1 0, its something like Nec1 0.19. But it will be fun to see how far off I was. Do keep me informed.
