It contains 4 JVC DVD player keys. They get decoded twice, reliably, always. Data is fine, recorded codes work. I'm just curious if there is a meaning to this. New batteries make no difference. On another day I saw in IR slightly different display where both lines were filled with identical data. Posted file just shows one line so filled.

There is no important meaning to it

There is something a little strange about those learned signals and something else strange about the way my decoder sees them. I suspect a minor bug in the IR capture method in the remote's firmware and another minor bug in my decode logic (I'll need to check that code later).

It is possible that there is something strange in your original remote, maybe even an intentional feature. That interpretation is based on the (unlikely) theory that these signals were learned exactly correctly by your 8910. That in turn implies that on every learn you released the JVC remote button a just a little sooner than we normally suggest.

If you're currious, try another learn and make sure you hold the JVC key being learned until you get the completion indicator from the 8910 (on a non LCD model that is the double blink. On the 8910 I don't know if it is also a double blink or something displayed on the LCD). If that changes the structure of the learned signal then your JVC remote is doing something strange. More likely you held it long enough already, so longer will change nothing and the minor glitch is a trivial learning error by the 8910.

Interesting! Unlikely too quick release, if anything I hold JVC button too long. Just fyi: on the URC8910B02 that I have, no blinks. Really nice messages: SUCCESS or ERROR. I've been releasing JVC button after 8910 said success. How is success defined, of course, is debatable in this case.
Thanks for looking into this. I will let you know if any NEW ino surfaces, in the meantime I'm really enjoying all the tools and this site provides.

Sometimes it pays not to worry about this stuff too much and just try it.

In this case, even though you see two lines for each learned signal, you see consitent protocol and device code info displayed, so just go ahead and create an upgrade using that info and try it.

If the upgrade works, you're all set, if it doesn't, come back here with questions.
