ilink 9800hd remote file

Post by badboyandyb »

Hi Newbie here ....how is everyone?
need help in building or obtaining a file for Ilink 9800hd remote will be used on slingbox (500) ....I've had success with the S2011_PL file but it doesn't work for the ilink 9800hd...greatly appreciated whoever built that file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated... would host a beer or two (not the one in the woods) :D

Thanks in advance

Not easy :D I normally do this by installing the device on my Logitech Harmony Remote and use that to 'mimic' the original remote and analyse the codes. Unfortunately the i-link 9800 HD has not made it onto the Logitech database yet. The system recommends using the i-link 8000 remote. I haven't built that, but it uses the same Power On/off code as this remote: https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=7740

Give it a try

will try it ass soon as I get some time

will let you know ....co-incidentally I have a Polaroid lcd hdtv model 3200 product # FLM 323B tv and I notice the remote powers on and off the Ilink 9800 by pressing the volume button up and down... maybe that might help in the direction of a new code

Thanks :)

ilink 9800hd remote file

Post by badboyandyb »

Hi Alan
I tried the first file you gave me...no luck...no response from any button pushed...the virtual remote is responding ...I can see that by using the viewfinder of the digital camera.
Will try the nano file you provided ...I have tried a few different files like the S2040 , V2010, V2020, S2011, S1786 ...so far nothing, the blaster is located right under the ir port of the ilink 9800hd ....the same blaster was used successfully on ilink 9500. i'm not giving up :)

Hmm, the ilink 8000 Nec1 204.2 didn't work for you.

Did you try the ilink 9000 upgrade from the files section. The ilink 9000 is a Nec1 8.215 protocol. The OBC for power is 10.

I don't have information on your TV, but many Polaroid TVs use a NEC1 8 signal. The Polaroid 4011-TLXB in our files section uses a Nec1 8 signal, and the vol+ button just happens to be an OBC of 10. However the subdevice numbers are not the same, so its probably just a strange cooincidence, but definately worth giving it a shot. Perhaps Alan can find out what the Polaroid FLM 323B is sending and then we might be able to do some experimentation.
Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

don't get confused by the numbers, they mean absolutely nothing. For example, I use 2010 as my own personal handle so there are over 500 BIN Files out there that use 2010 and they are all different. So the fact that one '2010' doesn't work means nothing.

NEC 1 8, as you thought, although interestingly the Volume control sends a code of 0. The second file I recommended uses that protocol.

Oh hi Alan, I didn't see your post. I guess I was looking at a stale page.

------------------------
Badboy, alan posted this one https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=7542 that uses Nec1 8. Try all the buttons. Read alan's post about the custom bin numbers. They are just user assigned numbers, and don't hold any clue as to the contents.

In the link above, the zero or one should operate the power. If not work with your blaster placement.

Let us know what the buttons do, and we'll put together an upgrade through trial and error if you are willing to go that route.

Hi Vicky and Alan
I tried the nano ...id 7542 ...that is the only one from the selection given that has a few buttons working.

< arrow sends the channels higher ...
> sends them lower.
number buttons 0 turns off/on the box.
6 gives recent channel.
4 mutes the sound
5 record manager. This also plays havoc on the tv changing channels and menus

Good, that confirms the basic facts. Let me check a few more remotes with those matches before we (or Vicki) embark on the trial and error technique.

OK, no luck I'm afraid. All the remotes NEC 1 8 that I have built use 10 as the Power Code, and your box uses zero. So we will have to use the trial and error method. But the difficult bit is over now.

Vikki: You were leading on this so happy for you to do it. If you want me to do it, I have plenty of spare time (on holiday again), just let me know,

Hi Alan, I really don't want to take the lead. I just really like the hunting. :D
badboy is a gem of a user. He provides feedback, and is willing to work for it. You don't get enough of those in the Sling forum for me to steal him away.

However, I do have a hint. The first upgrade I opened Pansat FTA 2800A had functions that matched all the ones that worked so far. I think this would be a good starting point. Try building a bin from that file.

If this isn't happening with the regular remote, I suspect that this unit responds to multiple codes. I have a couple of units that respond to totally different sets. My Echostar OTA receiver for one. Works with dish but has its own signals too.

I hope that you can manage this with careful aiming of the IR blaster, but this would be a PITA with a regular remote.

OK, I have control :D And the Panasat looks like a good bet so lets start with that.

badboy: Try this one as a start point. https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=11943
