I have been trying to use the tivo premiere xl4 remote as a template for my slingbox to program the mute and power buttons. I am trying to program the remote code for a Samsung HW-D550 sound bar into the power and mute functions of the Slingbox tivo remote.
I have downloaded a tivo premiere .bin file and a hw-d450 samsung soundbar .bin and imported each using remote master. I open the sound bar one write down the hex codes, open the tivo one a d try to input the codes, but the number keep changing in the three different boxs I input them.
What am I missing trying to customize this remote with the two codes I need?

OK. I have a slingbox 350, a tivo premiere XL4, and a Samsung HW-D550 sound bar. My slingbox is connected to my tivo via component cable from my tivo. My tivo is connected to my soundbar via HDMI and then from then HDMI to my Samsung TV.
I am trying to use my slingbox onscreen tivo remote to power on my soundbar and mute it. The on screen remote has a power button and a mute button, but nither of the tivo remote functions work.
So I downloaded a Tivo remote .Bin and a soundbar remote .bin. I tried to cut and paste the power and mute commands into the tivo slingbox bin file, but it doesnt work.
Can anyone help me program my slingbox on screen tivo remote to have a power and mute button that will control my sound bar?

Probably not. Two things you have to understand:
1. You can never use the Mute and Vol buttons on a Sling remote. These buttons are actually hijacked by Slingplayer and used to control it's own Volume, they are never sent to the device. So you would have to use some of the other buttons. However:
2. Custom Remote for Sling players can only ever use a single IR Protocol so you cannot mix devices on one remote.

Well thats good to know. Looks like I will be buying a powered HDMI splitter to get around the HDMI output issue with Tivo and Slingbox.alanrichey wrote:Probably not. Two things you have to understand:
