JP1 Remotes

my 6131 is getting harder to program since i don't use a computer with a recognizable parallel port.
plus i think my home made cable has seen better days.

i like the size of the 6131 - don't use the tivo functions.

the common atlas remotes are pretty big.
i bought a jp1.3 usb cable some time back and programming those type remotes works out pretty easily with the cable

are there any other remotes that can be recommended to replace my 6131.
i need at least 5 devices on the remote.

I like the Insignia JP1.3 remotes (see http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11728 ). Very close in size to the URC-6131. There are available on ebay for $13.80 shipped (from China).

These are 8 device remotes, although there are only 4 physical device buttons. Macros can be used to make any button behave like a device button.

Some models have back-lighting, some do not.

There is an extender available for it, which I consider critical as it makes it much easier to set up activity style macros (especially on the device buttons)

took a while to find the chinese vendor since his model number is a bit different,
ordered one and now i just wait.
