JP1 Remotes

Hi, I'm new.
I have the following problem: I cannot make my slingbox solo recognize my Italian MY SKY HD. Model should be the Samsung DBS P990V

I have inserted the bin files and S2010 type for the PACE DS831NS receiver, and now I am at least able to command my receiver.

But the remote controller is not the right one and I cannot use all the functions of my My SKY (I cannot record anything).

Could you provide me the bin files and explain how to correctly set up the slingbox?

I assume you actually mean DSB not DBS ?

There is a Custom Remote for this box in the File section. Have you not tried that ?

My only left doubt is this: the remote has all the functons but is not exactly the one i have at home, while if you look at some material you find on internet, like the movie in this page:

the remote shown is EXACTLY the one i have at home. How can they do that?

That takes quite a lot of extra work, I would have to rebuild the BIN file to match the new image. I'll give it a try, but at the moment i am on vacation in the Cayman Islands and the sea/sand/pool is very inviting

It's because it is a Custom Remote, Everyone else must have identified a built-in remote that works for them. I has assumed you had already tried the various 'Sky' selections before posting here ?

You shouldn't be looking for that exact box. 90% of the Sky boxes the world over use the same codes, so there are probably lots of the built-in remotes that would work and also give you the correct image. You just need to be patient and work through them

Hi, I have a problem.
I had to reinstall my slingbox but now the remote doesn't work anymore like before.
I used to have the colored buttons working but now they are not working anymore. I cannot understand why. I tried to search again DSB P990V but I only find the 990N and the colored buttons don't work. What can I do?

Are we talking about the Custom Remote or did you find a built-in one eventually ?

How are you installing the Remote, PC or Mac, Web or Desktop player ?

Custom remote, I was never able to find the built-in one.

PC, I am installing from the desktop player settings, like I did last time.

What 'device' are you selecting during the setup ?

Give me the URL of the BIN file you are using and I will try it on mine.

That is your mistake. 'Other controllable device' does not support those buttons. Why didn't you use 'Satellite' as it tells you to in the instructions ?

But I have the option "other" only there.
If I put satellite receiver it ask me to put my ZIP code before showing the models.
If I use mine it gives me only like 10 names of devices ad nothing else, no "other" option
