RCA DTA800B1 Digital Converter

Post by hojomojo »

Hi,
I have the RCA model DTA800B1 digital converter wired to a Slingbox Pro model SB200-100 (I think, awfully small print...)

Searched through the codes and closest I could find were 4 after whittling search down to just "RCA".

Tried all four codes individually according to readme's, set ir transmitters in different positions and every tip I caught while browsing for solution.

One of the 4 codes/bins tried DOES make the RCA box blink when clicking remote's buttons on Slingbox but a no go for actually changing channels. It is also sill sitting in /sbav/ folder. Name = RCA ATSC 11

Three codes that did NOT make anything of mine blink:
RCA SLB-200
RCA Venturer STB7766C
RCA VH915

I am asking for help to find and/or confirm I am even using right code. For instance I read somewhere that RCA was reusing codes from earlier satellite models. Just don't know...

Your help is greatly appreciated!

I found 4 RCA files in the digital STB folder:

RCA ATSC 11
RCA ATSC11
RCA DTA-800B
RCA STB7766G1

Did you try the file for the DTA-800B?

Oh, I see what hojomojo did. I was really confused as to why hojo was trying AV switches and satelite boxes. Hojo didn't search the upgrades area, instead he/she searched the slingbox files.

Do you know how to convert an upgrade to a Bin? Its pretty easy with our tools.

Thanks everyone! It is much appreciated Robman!!!

Yes I got myself tangled and was contemplating continuing to learn (in an effort to not pay for cable) or just buying an out of box solution.

Now I have an urge to learn how it's done.

For now I will just change channels from the restroom!
Thanks again

I didn't quite follow you, are you saying that you're going to give the BIN file a try?

Don't forget that you don't need to leave it in the \SBAV\ folder. During the setup it was downloaded to the Slingbox itself, so isn't then required on the computer.
