My old Comcast remote worked fine, but this one is new and I can't seem to find a code that works.
1. Device: Samsung HT-C6600
2. Type of device: Home Theater Blu-Ray
3. Year: 2009?
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: Comcast 3-1 dvr (says URC#1067CBM3-0001-R in battery compartment)
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? No
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? No
10. Learning remote question? Unsure
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? Yes |

What color is the OK/Select button on your new comcast remote? What color was the okay button on your old one. My guess is the old one was using video 0199 as your setup code. |

My old code is unknown to me. I'm sure I wrote it down, but I think it's several hundred miles away in a landfill by now.
New remote has a red OK/SELECT button and XFINITY at the bottom. Old remote was gray and had Comcast at the bottom. |

Have you tried 20199 for your code? Have you done a code search? |

Most Samsung HT systems use NECx2 IR protocol, device 67.83. The older Comcast remote with the grey OK/Select button has setup code Video (AUX) 1932 which shoots this protocol.
Unfortunately, newer Comcast remotes don't have a setup code that can shoot this signal. |

Oops, I got so carried away by the word Blu-Ray that I didn't realize it was a Home Theater system which would explain why the Comcast with the Red Ok/Select couldn't control it.
Good catch 3FG |

I have done a code search using option 3 (DVD)...almost 30 solid minutes of ch+ then power. During the search, the TV turned off 4 times, indicating I hit on some codes that were at least partially compatible with my TV, but nothing from the HT. I stopped because I figured the codes must have looped back to the beginning after 30 minutes. Using option 2 in the code search, I pushed buttons much faster but only for about 15 minutes...no devices changed.
I've tried 20199 because it was in the Samsung DVD list in the paperwork.
Am I out of options completely? Is there more I could do with a cable? Is it my only option? If so, how can I get one? |

With this remote you'd need a cable.
Perhaps you could get an old gray button remote from Comcast (although we need to have you blink back the Cable setup code to insure that the code is compatable with your cable box. That should be a freebie.
You can purchase a RCA RCR05B five device remote for about $16 and then you'd have a learning remote, although I prefer the Comcast layout.
You can get a FLASH cable. With a FLASH cable there are more options. Tommy Tyler is getting ready to sell some new flash cables at a lower price in July. |
