I need to setup virtual remote for Koss KS5509-2 DVD for Slingbox.

I am unable to search and get it to work. I tried KS4* listed but they don't work and also display in strange characters. Could someone help me how I could setup to work ?

I download KS5509-2.rmdu file, but don't know how to make use of it ??

Is there a bin for my DVD player to upload to SLingbox website, so can use as virtual remote ?

Thanks.

Actually I think there is a misscomunication here. Zhong thinks you linked to an RDMU instead of the bins.

Thanks. I need bin for web based player when I login to Slinbox and play
not a stand alone software player which I am not using.
I tried it once it causes a lot of errors. I had to re-set admin password
on my Sling box HD Pro because of stand alone player. So I prefer web based player. Seems less problems with it.

Is there a bin for web based player for me to download and upload to Slingbox so I can use that as virtual remote for my web based dvd player.
I tried bins from link whcih was posted but I don't think these bins meant for
web based Koss DVD player.

Thanks.

Yes, I would like to know how to use a RDMU ext. file though.
Nobody knowledgeable about those files has told me how it is used and where to use it ? Can it be used for web based player by uploading it to Slingbox site on setup ?

Thanks.

You misunderstand how the system works. When you install a BIN file it is actually downloaded to the Slingbox itself. After that it isn't used and can be deleted from the PC/Mac/Laptop. After that ANY viewing system (SlingPlayer, WebSlingplayer, SlingCatcher, SlingPlayer Mobile....) will then access and use that remote. So you ONLY need to use the standalone Slingplayer to install the remote, after that you can uninstall it and use the web-based player.

OK ?

Update: It appears that Sling have added the functionality to upload Custom Remotes to the web-based player but haven't announced it. See http://support.slingbox.com/get/KB-1000320.html

Sorry, just realised we never answered this question. The RMDU file is the source file used in the program RemoteMaster to produce the BIN files. See Section 6 of http://www.hifi-remote.com/wiki/index.p ... moteMaster

Still waiting for you to tell me if the BIN files I produced work. I don't issue the files until a user confirms they work.

Yes, the bin bins work.

But the blue button on Nano 2 suppose to display EPG but it doesn't.
It displays stereo r and L.

Is there anyway I can change this ?

What file or program should I download and do to enable me to change this ?

So if there are two file *_Pl.bin names which are the same.
I should open one in ir program editor and save as different file name
for each remote I wish to use, then all the remotes should work after I upload to Slingbox.right ?

I use the *_PL.bin to upload to sling box. I never use the *_RV.bin.
What is the RV.bin file for and is it same as Pl.bin file ?

Thanks.

Good

Don't understand that, I didn't program the Blue button so it shouldn't work at all. And what is this about the Nano2? I thought we were talking about the Koss ?

I said before, it's called RemoteMaster and is available in the File Section of this forum.

No, you cannot change the name of the BIN file

That is for early non-US Slingboxes.

All your questions are answered in that article I pointed you to, I guess you haven't read it?. Please read that in full and then ask anything you don't understand.
