Hello all,
I am after a tool which can convert NoviiRemote data into UEI or Pronto format and vice versa.
NoviiRemote has an "Import Hex Code" function which is available by editing a remote, selecting a function, selecting "Properities", and then selecting "Hex". _________________ "The best thing possible to do with knowledge is to share it". |

In my opinion, you should hit up the developers at info@novii.com. While I think it is nifty that they have all of their remote upgrade files in two zip files, both the UEI and Proto structure is much more well defined and mature than their format. It would probably be easier and better for them to develop a tool since they can reference the resources already available to make the translation. I would actually be surprised if they didn't already have one, at least for the Pronto format anyways. _________________ Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.) |

I took a quick peek at the Novi PDB file AUD_Aiwa_CX-NAJ50.PDB (from the user zip)
Here's the Novi code for the "num 2" button:
1a 58 5e 22 ec ee 4a 02 10 fd bd 02 10 f9 4f 02 10 f9 50 02 10 f9 50 02 10 fd a3 02 10 f9 50 02 10 f9 50 02 10 fd 6e 02 10 fd bd 02 10 fd a3 02 10 fd bd 02 10 fd 6e 02 10 fd a3 02 0f f9 4f 02 10 fd bd 02 10 fd a3 02 10 fd 6e 02 10 f9 4f 02 10 fd be 02 10 fd a3 02 10 f9 4f 02 10 f9 50 02 10 f9 4f 02 10 f9 4f 02 10 f9 6a 02 10 f9 50 02 10 fd a3 02 10 f9 50 02 10 fd bd 02 10 fd 6e 02 10 fd a3 02 10 fd bd 02 10 fd a3 02 10 fd 6e 02 10 f9 4f 02 10 fd bd 02 10 f9 50 02 10 f9 50 02 10 f9 50 02 10 f9 50 02 10 f9 50 02 10 f9 50 02 10 a7 05 22 d2 ee 65 02 10 80 01 80 01 91 8d
This button uses the Aiwa protocol with device code 110 and OBC 2, so the binary should be as follows:
01110110 00000 10001001 11111 01000000 10111111
In the Novi data, ZERO is "02 10 fd bd" and ONE is "02 10 f9 50" (these are approximate, you won't always get an exact match) _________________ Rob

I'm suprised that a remote function can be successfully cloned and transmitted with an IrDA 1.0 (115.2 kbit max) port, and you need to get the port to accept raw data, that is, no start or stop bits.
Every IR remote controlled device has to accept a certain degree of tolerance. _________________ "The best thing possible to do with knowledge is to share it". |
