I have a comcast remote- silver and all it does is blink 4 times on the cable button. No other buttons respond. I've removed batteries. I can see it in IR.EXE. How do I get it to stop blinking? _________________ thanks, just4fn |

Take out the batteries. Leave them out. loljk _________________ Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.) |

Well, at least it is no longer blinking.
Okay, how about.... Did you install an extender on the remote? Was it activated? Did you try performing a remote reset? Have you uploaded an image of your remote in an IR or RMIR file? _________________ Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.) |

That kind of blinking just means low batteries. |

Darn it. My typical, "Have you tried it with fresh batteries?', question would have applied here. _________________ Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.) |

Have you tried uploading a brand new image of the remote from either IR or RMIR and setting your devices manually? Otherwise another thing to try is to go through the motion of the 981 regardless of the lack of feedback. _________________ Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.) |

No worries now. The remote just went up and died. I uploaded an extended version of a file and now it doesn't blink anymore or anything. _________________ thanks, just4fn |

Hmmm... that's not the low battery flash. Looks like the remote resets, crashes, the resets again (4 blinks) in an infinite loop. One thing I'm not sure about is the data at 0A00. You could try the Initialize to $FF in the Advanced menu, then try a 981 reset if possible at that point. |

Thanks for the help. Ir doesn't reconize it anymore because it has died. It led a good life. _________________ thanks, just4fn |

If you want another one cheap, PM me a reasonable offer. I have a ton of them I'll probably never use. |

If you're referring to the "00 FF 0A 06 0A 06 00 00" content from 0A00 through 0A07, that data also appears in a fresh RDF image. I'm a little more worried about the the difference between his "00" in the 0800 address and the "02 01 11" value in the RDF's 07FD through 07FF. But then again, I have no idea what any of that means. lol _________________ Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.) |
