|
|
Hi, I am a complete newbie to all this. I have recently bought a One For All URC 7556 but cannot get it to control my Wharfdale DVDRhd 400f. I contacted One For All and they told me that the code is 2382, but unfortunately the code is not in my remote's memory. Is there anyway I can enter it in the remote controls memory myself - or does anyone know a code that may work?? Thanks |

I don't have any information on the Video/2382, so I don't know if that is the same as the Wharfdale DVR that we have in the file section. If it is similar to the Wharfdale in the setup code then I think if you set the setup code to Video/1367 you'd be able to control this with EFCs.
PLEASE let us know if these codes work for you.
Once you set your remote for Video/1367 you can test these by tapping the magic key and then press the 5 digit number while aiming the remote at the TV. Since this is RC-5 you might need to try the code twice for it to work, since this is a toggling protocol.
test
tap magic, type 0 2 2 2 5 and see if it turns on/off your unit
If these work see the wiki for instruction on setting up keymoves.

Not sure if it helps but I found a direct match on the Logitech Harmony Database. I recoded the respective IR device profile with the JP1 tools and created the following files. _________________ Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.) |

Thanks Earl, that shows that the 400 unit had a different device code (RC5 26) and totally different OBCs than the other Wharfdale M5 DVR (RC5 7) we have in the files section.
Since as far as I can tell it looks like the user is so new as to not have a cable, I assume we need EFC's. But you know what they say about assuming. Anyway since there is no RC5 26 code built in, to accomplish this with keymoves, we translate this into the RC5/rc5x combo. (This works because this is a remote that accepts 5 digit EFCs)
So again with Video/1367
try the power toggle
tap magic type 0 8 7 1 7
That should power your unit off/on, however since this is a toggling protocol you may need to do this two times to get the toggle in the right state.
If that works, then the list of EFC's that you can use are below
08929 Audio
08909 ChannelDown
08897 ChannelUp
08845 ChapterNext
08841 ChapterPrev
08765 Clear

By the way, I just want to point out that purchasing a JP1 cable from Tommy Tyler will make programming your remote much easier. The information is listed in this thread, (http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9405), if you're interested. _________________ Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.) |

Hi, the latest codes's work but I can't seem to install them in the laptop. As soon as I enter a code and hit the button I want to save it to, it just carries out the command but does save. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Once again, thanks for all your help |

LAPTOP?
janann65, do you have a cable? And is that why you are using a laptop? We assumed you wanted codes to work directly on the remote.
If that was just a brain freeze and you really meant install them on the remote, you need to follow the *994 keymove instructions found in the wiki.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help. |
