Radio Shack 15-2116/7 Macro Questions

Post by yubayogi »

Hey Gang-

Well after a few days of posts I decided to buy a 2117 package at RadioShack for $29.95 and the 2116 did come with the Remote Command Center thanks to those who posted this information.

My question is two fold. 1)With a JP1 cable can I add more than 15 steps for macros and is this the way to add pauses to macros?

2) How many macros does this remote store and do they carry through to the different devices (i.e. sat).

Thanks
Scott

Macros are always limited to 15 steps, but with the extender you should be able to concatenate (or maybe even nest) macros.

The remote can store as many macros as can fit in the available macro/keymove memory. Obviously, the more steps in the macros, the less macros you can store.

Macros are global across all devices, except for when you use the DSM (Device Specific Macro) special protocol.

DSM=Device Specific Macro. Generally macros are "global"(work in all device modes). A DSM makes the macro work only in the specific mode selected. DSM protocol is made with the Special protocols spreadsheet. Instructions are given on the same page you use to "make" the DSM protocol.
