I have a Radio Shack 15-2116 Remote, which I am having mixed success controlling:

-- TV -- Sony KV-27S36 (TV Code 0000)
-- VCR -- Sony SLV-765HF (VCR Code 0032)
-- CBL -- not used
-- SAT -- not used
-- CD -- JVC XL-M409 (CD Code 0072)
-- DVD -- Sony DVP-NS315 (DVD Code 0533)
-- AUX -- ReplayTV 5160 (**VCR Code 0614)
-- AUDIO -- JVC RX-809V (AMP Code 0331)

It is the last item, my JVC receiver, which is not working to my satisfaction. I can't figure out how to make the Audio-Power button turn the darn thing on and off. Surprisingly, when in Audio mode, the down arrow button will turn it on and off with the following learned signals:

What do I have to do in order to make the Audio-Power button on the 15-2116 turn the receiver on and off?

Once I figure that out, I should be on my way to figuring out how to configure the "My System" button to my chosen mix, that's another story. By the way, I'm puzzled by the fact that the 15-2116 can effectively control my JVC CD player, but has problems with my JVC Receiver. Both are the same age (about 10-11 years) and were bought at the same time as part of a complete system.

The Audio/0331 code uses the JVC protocol with a device code of 163. I checked the file section for JVC amps and receivers and I found this file for a very similar model to yours: JVC-RCVR-RX-778v.txt which also uses JVC device 163, so my guess is that this would work for you. Have you tried it? If not, give it a whirl.
