WORKING power discrete codes for Pioneer DVR-533H?

Post by jamaroney »

I have tried all the remotes on this site for Pioneer DVRs, and while many of them have discrete on/off buttons, when I load them the off button functions as a toggle on/off and the on button does nothing (or the opposite - I get confused...).

Are discrete power codes for that unit simply nonexistent?

I'm a newbie, and use RemoteMaster 2.01. Thanks for any help to be offered.

Pioneer has the codes for your PVR.

The discrete codes listed there match this upgrade.

Thanks, but that's one of the ones I tried earlier. I just tried it again - it works as I described in my earlier post.

Well, I suppose that it's possible that Pioneer doesn't know their own IR codes, but probably a better bet it that something has gone wrong in uploading the upgrade. How about posting your RMIR file in the Diagnosis Section, and posting a link to it here?

Here is the link to my RMIR file:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=9629

Correction: my unit is a 531, not 533 as I originally listed. However, my Pioneer manual lists the 531 and 533 together.

Once again, the "Power Off" button toggles power (just like the "Power" button), and the "Power On" does nothing.

All other buttons work fine.

I uploaded your RMIR file into a 15-135 (it complains a little, because the checksums are wrong) and it is shooting the 186-188 OBCs that you intended. I suppose that means that the 531 really doesn't have discrete On/Off signals.

I don't have any other suggestions.

I figured out a workaround for discrete power on - I discovered that the play button turns on the unit (and plays the last thing recorded), so I just set up a macro where "play" is followed by "guide", which stops play and goes right to the main menu.

Thanks for the assistance.
